Faith lines

Apostle Paul described Jesus’ death on the cross for the sins of mankind as a unique event valid for all time. He submitted to death at that moment, but when he rose from the dead, death was defeated. It no longer had power over him. Jesus was freed from death forever. Since those who entrust their salvation to Christ have also died, been buried, and then risen to new spiritual life, we are spiritually on the same path as Jesus. We are now so closely identified with Christ that God imputes Christ’s righteousness to us and pays for His death for our sin. In Colossians 3:4, Christ is literally “our life”.
